Security Alert - U. S. Embassy Zagreb, Croatia (March 4, 2022)

Location: Trg Bana Josipa Jelacica, Zagreb

Event: Please be advised that the Ukrainian-Croatian community and the Croatian-Helsinki Committee will be holding an anti-war demonstration to support Ukraine at noon on Saturday, March 5 at Trg Bana Josipa Jelacica.  The number of protestors is unknown but is expected to be significant as other citizens could join.  Anti-war protests in other European capitals have drawn several thousand people.  Traffic disruptions are expected throughout downtown.  If you plan to be in this area Saturday, be vigilant, aware of your surroundings, and have an exit plan.

  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Notify friends and family of your safety
