Demonstration Alert: Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) 

Location: Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) 

Event: There will be a political gathering tomorrow, December 9, 2023, beginning at 8:00AM, at Terrain Sainte Therese. Terrain Sainte Therese is in N'djili (close to the airport) about one mile from the N1. Expect large crowds, increased traffic, and increased police presence in that area.  

Actions to Take: 

• U.S. citizens are reminded that demonstrations that may start peacefully have the potential to turn violent with little to no warning, and they are advised to avoid large gatherings, protests, and affected areas. 

• Avoid crowds and demonstrations. 

• Be aware of your surroundings. 

• Monitor local media for updates. 

• Review your personal security plans. 

• Keep a low profile.
