Weather Alert: Antananarivo (Madagascar), Tropical Storm Belna

Location: Madagascar, Comoros and Mayotte; possible strong wind, heavy rains and flooding.

Event:  There is a category 2 severe tropical storm system developing in the Indian Ocean. The storm is expected to make landfall in Comoros; Mayotte; and western and southern Madagascar. Expect heavy rains and strong winds with possible flooding, landslides, power outages and difficult travel conditions.

Actions to Take:

• Avoid travel to the affected areas until the storm has dissipated.
• Monitor the local news for updates.
• Seek secure shelter.
• Visit the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and Tropical Storm Risk (TSR) for updated storm tracking information.
