Location: Bogota, Colombia 

Event: U.S. Embassy Bogota is monitoring scheduled protests on July 14-15, when the U.S. Embassy will be closed to the public. The protest on July 14 is part of the "No Kings" protests. It is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. EDT and conclude at 12:00 p.m. EDT at the U.S. Embassy. Two protests on July 15 in support of the Palestinian people are also scheduled, which may take place near the U.S. Embassy. Street access near the U.S. Embassy may be affected. 

U.S. Embassy Bogota will continue to monitor protest activity and provide updates if necessary. 

Actions to Take:  

  • Avoid crowds.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Wear little to no jewelry and carry few valuables. Keep a low profile.
  • Avoid using your cell phone in public.
  • Do not physically resist any robbery attempt.
  • Keep car doors locked, and windows rolled up.
  • Monitor local news media for updates
