Demonstration Alert - U.S. Embassy Bogota, Colombia (September 16, 2025)
The U.S. Embassy is monitoring reports of protests planned for the following areas of Bogota.
The protests are scheduled to begin at 5 am on 16 September at the following locations:
- Zona Sur
- Autopista Sur Con Av. Villavicencio
- Zona Centro
- Plaza De Bolívar
- Carrera 11 con Calle 69
- Zona Norte
- Zona Occidente
- Transversal 93 con Calle 51 (Patios Álamos)
- Zona Sur Oriente
- Calle 38 a Sur con Carrera 34 D (Centro Mayor)
- Zona Noroccidente
- Av. Ciudad de Cali con Av. Suba
Expect significant traffic disruptions around the demonstration areas.
The U.S. Embassy recommends U.S. citizens avoid areas around demonstrations, protests, and marches whenever possible. Even peaceful demonstrations have the potential to turn violent without any warning. Please take this into account when traveling.
The U.S. Embassy will continue to monitor and provide relevant updates if necessary. Anyone needing emergency assistance should call Colombian local police at 123.
