Location: Proceeding from Carrefour Supermarket on Avenida Plinio Brasil Milano, 2343, to the U.S. Consulate General on Avenida Assis Brasil.

Event: The U.S. Embassy is aware of a planned demonstration in conjunction with recent developments in the Middle East that may occur in Porto Alegre, Brazil on March 9, 2026, at 18:30. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate quickly.

Local authorities may increase security measures, including road closures, traffic restrictions, or increased police presence in areas where demonstrations occur.

Actions to Take

  • Avoid the area surrounding the Carrefour Supermarket on Avenida Plinio Brasil Milano, and the area around the U.S. Consulate General on Avenida Assis Brasil.
