Demonstration Alert: Gaborone (Botswana), November 15-17

Location: R49 Highway, 10 kilometers from Tlokweng Border Crossing

Event: Protests are possible on the R49 in South Africa approximately 10 kilometers from the Tiokweng Border crossing. Protests may occur even if the border is open. The R49 was completely blocked on November 14, 2024 by protesters until police opened the road. Protests are possible at any time throughout the weekend - November 15-17, 2024.

Actions to Take: U.S. citizens are advised to use caution if traveling in the area, and to never drive into or close to any demonstration.
