Demonstration Alert: U.S. Embassy Sarajevo (Friday, September 1, 2023)
Location: Several areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina including in Doboj along the M17 magistral road; in East Sarajevo areas of Dobrinja, Lukavica, and Vraca; in Lopare along the M18 magistral road; in Nevesinje along the M6-1 magistral road; and in Pale.
Event: A group has announced that it intends to gather in multiple roadside locations in the country at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, September 1, in order to demonstrate against a recent Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decision. Other gatherings related to this demonstration may occur at other locations in the country without prior notice.
U.S. government personnel are advised to avoid these areas of demonstrations. Spontaneous protests may occur without prior notice.
