Health Alert: Bangladesh, Bangladesh Added to the Global Dengue Travelers’ Health Notice

Location: Throughout Bangladesh 
 
Event: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) added Bangladesh to the Global Dengue Travelers’ Health Notice  which is currently at a Level 1 – Practice Usual Precautions.  Dengue is a disease caused by a virus spread through mosquito bites and can take up to 2 weeks to develop with illness generally lasting less than a week. More information is available on the CDC’s dengue webpage .

Actions to Take:

  • Visit the CDC  Travelers Health Page.
  • Consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for country health advisories or call CDC  at 800-232-4636 or 404-639-3534.
  • Seek medical treatment if experiencing any warning signs or any symptoms that cause you concern.
