Demonstration Alert: Vienna (Austria), Black Lives Matter Protest on June 4 at 5:00pm

Location:  Announced gathering points include, but are not limited to, the following areas in Vienna:

• MuseumsQuartier on Mariahilferstrasse

• The corner of Boltzmanngasse and Strudlhofgasse (near the U.S. Embassy)

Event:  On Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 5:00 p.m., a protest organized by Black Lives Matter and SPÖ will be held near the MuseumsQuartier on Mariahilferstrasse.

On Friday, June 5, 2020, at 5:00 p.m., a protest organized by Black Lives Matter Vienna will be held at the U.S. Embassy.

Actions to take:

• Be aware of your surroundings; even peaceful protests can turn violent.
• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
• Follow the instructions of local authorities and road signs regarding closures and detours.
• Monitor local media for updates.
