Event: The Constitutional Council’s ratification of the election results is expected to be announced at 3:00 pm local time on Thursday, May 16. Demonstrations are possible after the announcement and police presence may increase. Celebratory gunfire, not uncommon in Chad, may also be heard after the election results are announced.
