Demonstration Alert: U.S. Consulate General Johannesburg, South Africa on February 5, 2026

Location:  Johannesburg, South Africa

Event:  There is a planned demonstration at the U.S. Consulate General in Johannesburg on Friday, February 6, from 14:00 – 16:00.  Protestors may be in the area earlier than the planned start.  Due to the demonstration, there will be additional police presence around the Consulate and traffic delays in the vicinity are likely.  Even events intended to be peaceful can become violent.
