Event
The U.S. Consulate is aware of planned and spontaneous demonstrations in conjunction with recent developments in the Middle East that may occur in North Sydney on or around March 20, 2026. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate quickly.
Local authorities may increase security measures, including road closures, traffic restrictions, or increased police presence in areas where demonstrations occur.
 
Actions to Take
  • Avoid the area opposite the Consulate in North Sydney. NSW Police and Australian Federal Police will be present to monitor the situation and ensure safety.
  • Avoid demonstrations and crowds.
  • Check local media for breaking news. Be prepared to adjust your plans.
  • Remain alert to your surroundings and possible threats.
