Safety Alert: Turkey, Routine Message – Eid al-Fitr/Ramazan Bayramı Holiday Between March 19 and March 22

Eid al-Fitr/Ramazan Bayramı Holiday Preparedness 

 

Location: Türkiye

Event: Türkiye will observe the Eid al-Fitr/Ramazan Bayramı holiday from midday on March 19 through the end of March 22, 2026. During this time, travelers may encounter crowds in public places and vacation destinations, congested traffic conditions, and business closures.

As a reminder, many countries require passports to have at least six months of validity remaining for entry. If your passport is set to expire soon, renew it now to help ensure smooth travel.

Actions to Take:

  • Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)  to receive information and alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency overseas.
  • Keep your cell phone and spare batteries charged.
  • Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists.
  • Have copies of important documents and an extra supply of required medications on hand.
  • Inform friends and family members of your whereabouts and travel plans.
  • In the event of security incidents, follow the instructions of local authorities and monitor local media for updates.
  • Prepare a plan for emergency situations.
  • Review the Traveler’s Checklist .
