Event: The U.S. Embassy in Tirana is monitoring flooding throughout the country and urges all U.S. citizens to exercise caution in areas threatened by the floods as rains continue through the week. Flooding may occur with little notice and the rain may close roads due to flooding or landslides. Actions to Take:
– U.S. citizens should avoid affected areas and follow police instructions regarding road closures or traffic disruptions. Monitor local news for updates on flooding conditions and plan your routes accordingly. Google Maps may also provide real-time information on road closures and floods.
– Do not attempt to drive through areas that are affected by flooding. Seek an alternate route or consider delaying travel if an alternate route is not available.
– We strongly encourage U.S. citizens in affected areas who are safe to monitor local news and to contact their loved ones directly and/or update their status on social media.
