Security Alert – UAE Update – U.S. Mission UAE, Mar. 1, 2026

• U.S. government personnel in the UAE continue to shelter in place, and we recommend that all Americans in the UAE do the same.  To the extent possible, remain in your residence, hotel, or other secure structure, and stay away from windows.

• UAE airspace remains closed until further notice, and flight operations at international airports have been suspended indefinitely.  Questions about flight availability and rebooking should be directed to your airline.  If you were in transit when flights were interrupted, you should obtain temporary accommodations and remain there.

• Appointments for routine consular services from March 2 through March 4 at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai have been postponed.  If you have an appointment on these dates, please do not come to the embassy or consulate; we will contact you to reschedule when routine services resume.  For emergency consular services, see our contact information below.
