Health Alert: Jamaica, No-Movement Days Announced

Location: Jamaica

 

Event: The Government of Jamaica has announced seven nation-wide no movement days in order to slow the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.  Non-essential and non-emergency movement on the island is prohibited from8:00 pm Saturday, August 21, 2021 until 5:00 am Wednesday, August 25, 2021. The subsequent two weekends, from Saturday, August 28 until Wednesday, September 1, and from Saturday, September 4 until Monday, September 6 are included in the no movement announcement, with specific curfew hours to be announced at a later date.  The curfew from Wednesday to Friday during the no movement period remains 7:00pm to 5:00am. 

 

In accordance with the Government of Jamaica’s announcement, the United States Embassy in Kingston will be closed for routine services on Monday, August 23,and Tuesday, August 24.  Applicants with appointments for consular services on those days will be contacted with new appointment dates.  Applicants with appointments on Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31 should monitor the Embassy website and social media for updates.

·       Visit the CDC Travelers Health Page for Jamaica

·       Review your personal security plans.

·       Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.

·       Have evacuation plans that do not rely on U.S. government assistance.
