Demonstration Alert: U.S. Consulate General Durban, South Africa (January 28, 2026)

 Durban, South Africa

 

Event: A demonstration is expected to take place at the U.S. Consulate General in Durban on Friday, January 30 at 12:00.

 

Due to the expected demonstration, there will be additional police presence around the Consulate and traffic delays in the vicinity are likely. U.S. citizens are encouraged to monitor local transportation information and coordinate travel routes accordingly.

 

U.S. citizens are encouraged to avoid areas with large crowds and to always exercise caution within the vicinity of demonstrations. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can become violent. Do not attempt to drive or walk through a demonstration.
