Demonstration Alert: U.S. Consulate General Johannesburg, South Africa (February 13, 2026)

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Event: There is a planned demonstration at the U.S. Consulate General in Johannesburg on Saturday, February 14, from 12:00 – 16:00. Due to the demonstration, there will be additional police presence around the Consulate and traffic delays in the vicinity are likely. Even events intended to be peaceful can become violent.

Actions to Take:

Be aware of your surroundings.
Avoid large crowds.
Monitor local media for updates.
Follow the instructions of local authorities.
Plan alternative routes.
