The U.S. Embassy is aware of calls for possible marches and demonstrations that could occur throughout Honduras on May 1, 2026.

The U.S. Embassy is aware of two marches scheduled to begin at 7:00am on May 1.  In Tegucigalpa, the planned route is Comayaguela to Central Park using Second Avenue.  In San Pedro Sula, the route is Mega Mall to Central Park using First Avenue.  Marches may also take place in other locations.

Actions to Take: 

• Monitor local media for updates.
• Avoid demonstrations and crowds.
• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of a demonstration or crowd.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Keep a low profile.
• Plan extra time to arrive at your destination if traveling.
• Review your personal security plans.
• Have travel documents and identification up to date and easily accessible.
• Have alternative transportation routes in mind.
• Be prepared to adjust your plans.
• Monitor local media and U.S. Embassy Instagram , Facebook  and X  pages for updates.
