Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (June 19, 2023)
Location: Haiti
Events: Do to an ongoing Haitian National Police (HNP) operation and significant gunfire heard coming from the Torcelle area, all U.S. Embassy personnel are restricted to the Embassy and residential compounds until further notice.
Actions to take:
· Avoid the area;
· Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people;
· Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and
· If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.
