Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Friday, January 23, 2026)
Location: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania
Event: Commercial truck drivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro are planning to stage demonstrations along land border crossings toward EU member states beginning at noon on Monday, January 26. The demonstrators will park their trucks at the transport terminals of the land border crossings to create a blockade at the border crossings in Gradiska, Bijaca, Izacic, Bosanski Brod, Bosanski Samac, Maljevac, Strmica, and Kamensko. Demonstrators have announced they intend to only block the entry and exit of freight traffic to and from the EU, though the demonstrations may also impact other traffic in the area.
