Location:  Finland

Event:  There is an ongoing outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) first identified in Wuhan, China.  The global public health threat posed by COVID-19 is high, with more than 153,000 reported cases worldwide. 

As of March 17, U.S. Embassy Helsinki will suspend appointments for consular services until April 9.  For emergency services, please see below for contact information.

On March 16, the Finnish National Institute for Health and Welfare announced 277 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Finland.

The Department of State has issued a Global Level 3 Health Advisory advising U.S. citizens to reconsider travel abroad due to the global impact of COVID-19.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 2 Global COVID-19 Outbreak Notice.
