Public Notice: Qatar, WhatsApp Channel for U.S. Citizens

U.S. citizens in Qatar can receive alerts and relevant updates from the consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Qatar via WhatsApp.  Everyone is welcome to follow the WhatsApp channel to receive our information.  Use of this channel is optional.

This is in addition to the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), where alerts are sent by email.

Actions to Take:

• Use this link  to follow the “U.S. Citizen Consular Information: Qatar” WhatsApp Channel. If you do not have WhatsApp, you will need to first install it on your device.
• Do not reply to the WhatsApp messages. It is not possible to post comments in the WhatsApp channel, although you can react with emojis.
• You can stop following the channel at any time.
• Enroll in STEP  to receive email alerts.
