Location: Teotihuacan Pyramids, State of Mexico 

Event: The U.S. Embassy is aware of a shooting that occurred earlier today at the Teotihuacan ⁠pyramids, a tourist site ​outside of Mexico City. Local authorities have confirmed the area has been secured and all injured victims are receiving medical care at local clinics and hospitals. 

Actions to Take:  

  • If you were in the vicinity of the shooting and unharmed, contact friends and family to let them know you are safe.
  • If you require assistance, contact the U.S. Embassy at the details below.
  • Follow the directions of local authorities and in case of emergency, call 911.
