Alert: Health Alert – CDC Update to the Colombia Traveler’s Health Page – March 26, 2026

Event: The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an updated Level 1 Global Travel Health Notice for Dengue . According to CDC, dengue is an ongoing risk around the world. Some countries, including Colombia, are reporting more cases of the disease. Dengue is spread by mosquito bites. Travelers to Colombia may be at increased risk due to major flooding following unusually high rainfall. This has led to an increased risk of mosquito-borne diseases, including chikungunya , malaria , Zika , yellow fever , and dengue . There may also be increased risk of waterborne diseases due to contaminated water sources.
