Event: The U.S. Embassy is monitoring nationwide marches and demonstrations on May 1, 2026, throughout Colombia, including, but not limited to:
Demonstrations are possible in other cities across Colombia but the details are not known at this time.
Even peaceful demonstrations have the potential to turn violent without any warning. The Embassy advises U.S. citizens to avoid areas around demonstrations, which often cause significant traffic delays, and to exercise caution when in the vicinity of large gatherings.
