On July 1, 2020, Iceland eased its travel ban to allow entry for citizens of some countries, but the U.S. is not included. U.S citizens are not able to enter Iceland until further notice. · U.S. citizens with travel plans to Iceland in July must postpone their visits.
· Iceland is participating in the EU travel ban along with other Schengen states, and travelers from the Unites States are not permitted access into the country until further notice.
· U.S. citizens cannot travel to the U.K. or other third-party countries and transit to Iceland. U.S. citizens who can prove residency in an EU or Schengen country may be able to enter Iceland if they are able to prove residency.
· All travelers entering Iceland, including Icelandic citizens and residents, must self-quarantine for 14 days or submit to a COVID-19 test upon arrival at the airport.
· Health certificates from foreign countries are NOT accepted.
The consular section at the U.S. Embassy in Reykjavik has suspended all routine visa and passport appointments. Email ReykjavikConsular@state.gov to request an emergency appointment.
