Event:
Planned events to celebrate Central African Republic’s (CAR) National Day are scheduled for November 30 between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. along the Oubangui River and near PK 0. Events are also scheduled on December 1 between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Avenue des Martyrs and at the soccer stadium. These events are expected to draw large crowds and have a heavy security presence with checkpoints. U.S. government personnel have been advised to avoid congested areas.
Actions to Take:
- Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large crowds.
- Minimize unnecessary movements.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Do not physically resist any robber attempt.
- Carry proper identification, including U.S. passport with a current CAR visa.
