Demonstration Alert: U.S. Embassy Skopje, North Macedonia, February 12, 2026

Location: Skopje

Event: The Federation of Trade Unions will organize a blockade of the Chamber of Commerce today, February 12, 2026 at 12:00 noon to demand an increase in the minimum wage, a general linear increase of all wages, regular salary payments, and the Government’s respect for collective agreements. Participants will gather at the intersection between Dimitrije Chupovski Street and Dame Gruev Street, which will close traffic in the Skopje’s immediate central area.

Actions to Take:

• Avoid the areas of the demonstrations when publicized.
• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
• Monitor local media for updates.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Plan significant extra time to arrive at your intended destination.
• Exercise caution when driving and check traffic conditions beforehand.
