Event: The Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF) has announced a planned protest for 2:00 PM today (Tuesday, August 30, 2022), in the vicinity of Maradana Railway Station in Colombo 10 (near Elphinston Theater) with plans to march towards Fort Railway Station. The protest is estimated to have about 1200 participants.
Even peaceful demonstrations can quickly turn confrontational and escalate into violence. Avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place and exercise caution when in the vicinity of large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
