Demonstration Alert: U.S. Consulate General – Cape Town, South Africa – Friday, April 10, 2026

A planned demonstration is expected to take place at the U.S. Consulate General in Cape Town 9:30 am – 11:30 am on Friday, April 10, 2026.

U.S. citizens are encouraged to avoid areas with large crowds and to always exercise caution within the vicinity of demonstrations. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate to violence. Do not attempt to drive or walk through a demonstration. U.S. citizens are encouraged to monitor local transportation information and coordinate travel routes accordingly.
