Security Alert: Khartoum (Sudan), Heavy Gunfire Across the City and Shelter in Place Encouraged

Event: Due to reports of heavy gunfire in several locations in Khartoum, Embassy staff have been ordered to shelter in place. American citizens are encouraged to shelter in place.

Actions to Take:

Immediately shelter in place.
Be aware of your surroundings.
Monitor local media for updates.
Review the Department of State travel advisory for Sudan.
