Weather Alert: Australia, Tropical Cyclone Narelle

Location: Western Australia near Broome and surrounding areas.

Event: Tropical Cyclone Narelle is currently near Broome and is forecasted to move southwest along the coast.  Heavy rainfall, strong winds, road floods, or power outages are expected.  The Perth metropolitan area may also be affected as the cyclone passes through the area in the days ahead.

Actions to Take: 

• Reconsider travel to the region until the storm has dissipated.
• Monitor local news for updates.
• Visit the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology  for updated storm tracking information.
• Make contingency plans. Visit Emergency WA  for additional storm related updates.
• Visit Western Power  for information about potential power outages.
