Location: Oman

Event: The U.S. Embassy in Oman has lifted the shelter-in-place order for all areas of Oman except for the city of Duqm and immediate environs and a 100 km radius around Salalah. U.S. Government personnel are prohibited from traveling to these areas. Those located outside of these localities should limit travel to the designated areas.

Actions to Take:

  • Continue to shelter in place if located within above designated areas
  • Be aware of your surroundings and keep a low profile.
  • Contact your airline if your flight plans are disrupted.
  • Monitor media for breaking news. Be prepared to adjust your plans.
  • Keep your phone charged and maintain communication with family and friends to inform them of your status.
  • Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive the latest updates on security in Oman via step.state.gov
