Location: Socotra Island (Yemen)
Event: The Department of State has received reports of closures, cancelations and redirected flights on commercial airline travel to and from the island of Socotra (Yemen) to nearby airports. U.S. citizens are reminded to review the Level 4 Travel Advisory that recommends against all travel to Yemen, including Socotra. The U.S. government is unable to provide emergency or routine consular services to U.S. citizens in Yemen, including Socotra.
A state of emergency was declared for Socotra Island on December 30, 2025, temporarily closing all ports of entry. The operational status of airports and flight-paths could change without notice.
We recommend sheltering in place and following local instructions until further notice. Please stay tuned for updates from local authorities and airlines.
