U.S. Embassy Athens is monitoring plans by various groups to hold a demonstration near the U.S. Embassy on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 18:00 hours, with participants assembling at Eleftherias Park, adjacent to the Megaron Music Hall. Please note traffic may be affected due to the demonstration. Elevated police presence is expected.
The U.S. Embassy recommends U.S. citizens avoid areas around demonstrations, protests, and marches whenever possible. Even peaceful demonstrations have the potential to turn violent without any warning.
