Event: The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens that the curfew remains in place in New Caledonia and the international airport remains closed.

There are shortages of food and medical supplies.
A state of emergency has been declared territory-wide.
A daily overnight curfew is in place in the capital Nouméa from 6 pm to 6 am.
During the curfew, certain bans are in place, such as:
- unauthorized public gatherings
- alcohol sales
- transportation of weapons
Flights have been cancelled and the La Tontouta International Airport will be closed until at least May 17. Routes to the airport may be blocked, including RT1.

- Be aware of your surroundings.
