Event: The U.S. Embassy in Bishkek is aware of reports of violence and arrests which took place in Bishkek on May 17, 2024. The incident involved local residents and international students, including those of South Asian descent.

Actions to take:

Avoid crowds and demonstrations.
Be aware of your surroundings.
Carry proper identification, including a U.S. passport with a current visa, if applicable.
