Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Event:  A demonstration is planned outside U.S. Embassy Buenos Aires on March 3, 2026.  The demonstration is scheduled to start at 1600 hours in Plaza Italia and march to the intersection of Cerviño and Sarmiento.  Argentine Federal Police and Buenos Aires City Police will deploy officers and barricades to manage the event.  Traffic and/or sidewalks in the area will be disrupted starting at 15:00 today.  While police do not expect the demonstration to be violent, conditions and the situation could change quickly.

Actions to Take:   

  • Avoid areas of demonstrations.
  • Expect road closures and heavy traffic.
  • Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
  • Carry a photocopy of your U.S. passport or other valid identification.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Keep a low profile.
