Subject: Notice for U.S. Citizens: Scheduled Protests

Time: Wednesday, May 15, from 18:00 to 20:00.
Event: The U.S. Embassy would like to advise the community of protests scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th in Bratislava. Opposition political parties have called on people to protest and Slovak police expect that numbers could reach into the tens of thousands and there is a chance of road closures and traffic disruptions. U.S. Citizens are advised to avoid the following areas and plan accordingly:
Bratislava, Namestie Slobody from 18:00-20:00.
Actions to Take:
- Be cautious of your surroundings and practice situational awareness at all times;
- Stay aware of spontaneous counter-protests;
- If altercations or violence occurs, remove yourself and any family/group members from the area immediately to a safe location (police officer, known public area, etc.);
- Set a predetermined time and location to meet with friends and family should you become separated.
