Security Alert: Guadalajara (Mexico), Conflict Between Police and Cartel Elements Likely

Location: Jalisco

Event: The State of Jalisco has isused a state-wide Security Alert and increased security presence in the Guadalajara metropolitan area following the reported arrest of a cartel member. There is a potential for conflicts between police and criminal elements.

Actions to Take:

Be aware of your surroundings.
Monitor local media for updates, follow directions from local officials, and in case of emergency, call 911.
Maintain a high level of vigilance and keep a low profile.
