Demonstration Alert: Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Protest March on November 22

A peaceful protest against proposed amendments to the Constitution is scheduled to start at noon on Sunday, November 22, 2020. Protestors will march from the railway station to the Parliament building on Ala Too Square via Erkindik Blvd.   

U.S. Embassy employees have been instructed to avoid the areas of the planned demonstration. U.S. citizens are advised to avoid the areas noted above.

·        Avoid the planned march routes.  

·        Avoid large crowds, gatherings, and demonstrations.  

·        Be aware of your surroundings and local security developments.  

·        Monitor local media.
