Alert – Disruptions to Transportation, U.S. Embassy Spain (February 6, 2026)
Location: Throughout Spain
Event: Significant disruptions in Spain’s transportation network are expected during the following periods:
- Ongoing – Train service in various parts of Spain is interrupted due to weather and track maintenance.
- February 7, 5:00 p.m., Barcelona – Demonstration called by train users against delays and maintenance issues. The demonstrators will march from Estación de Franca to Plaza Sant Jaume.
- February 9-11 – Planned general strike of train conductors throughout Spain. This will affect most trains in the country.
- February 11, 11:00 a.m., Madrid – Demonstration called by agricultural sector. Tractors will proceed from various roads entering Madrid and will then proceed from Plaza de Colón to the Ministry of Agriculture (near Atocha).
- Additional demonstrations and changes in rail service are expected in the coming weeks.
