Weather Alert: Eastern and Southern Taiwan, Typhoon Podul is Currently Forecast to Impact Taiwan

Location: Eastern and Southern Taiwan

Event: Typhoon Podul is currently forecast to impact Taiwan. According to projections by Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration  (CWA), the typhoon will make landfall tomorrow, August 13. The typhoon poses risks of potential damage from both high winds and torrential downpours. Expect heavy rainfall, high winds, dangerous storm tides, and possible flooding to occur.

Actions to take:

• Monitor the local news for updates.
• Seek secure shelter.
•     Visit the Joint Typhoon Warning Center Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) (navy.mil) and Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration (CWA)  for updated typhoon tracking information.  International Community Radio Taipei (ICRT) provides regular weather bulletins in English on 100.7 FM in the Taipei and Kaohsiung areas and on 100.1 FM in Taichung.
