Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Buenos Aires, Argentina (January 22, 2026)

Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Event:  A demonstration is scheduled to occur outside the U.S. Embassy today, January 22, 2026, at 16:00.  Argentine Federal Police and Buenos Aires City Police will deploy officers and barricades to manage the event.  Traffic and/or sidewalks in the area will be disrupted.  While police do not expect the demonstration to be violent, conditions and the situation could change quickly.

Actions to Take:   

• Avoid areas of demonstrations.  

• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.  

• Carry a photocopy of your U.S. passport or other valid identification.  

• Be aware of your surroundings.  

• Monitor local media for updates.
