Event: The U.S. Embassy advises citizens to exercise extreme caution in the northwestern region of Haut-Katanga province due to ongoing security threats and reports of recent violent attacks near Lusinga-Upemba National Park. Armed groups are known to operate in these areas, and the security environment remains unpredictable.
U.S. citizens are strongly urged to avoid travel to areas that are associated with armed group activity. The Department of State has issued a Level 4 – Do Not Travel advisory for these areas due to the elevated risk of violence and instability.
