Location: In front of the U.S. Consulate General Rio de Janeiro on Avenida Presidente Wilson.

Event: A demonstration is expected to take place on January 15, 2026, beginning at 4:00 PM.

U.S. citizens should avoid the area and exercise caution in the vicinity.

Brazilian public safety officials are aware of the protest and monitoring the situation. Historically, gatherings of this type have been peaceful and orderly; however, demonstrations can quickly become unpredictable.
