Options to Depart
- Commercial flights are currently offered by Middle East Airlines , operating out of Beirut Rafic Hariri airport. Americans should strongly consider departing on one of these flights if they believe it is safe to do so. Visit the Middle East Airlines website to find information about flight availability and purchasing tickets. The U.S. government cannot guarantee your safety if you choose to depart.
Embassy Operations
- The U.S. Embassy will resume limited passport services on an emergency basis and has suspended all routine consular services. Americans whose passport has been lost, stolen, or expired must send an email to BeirutACS@state.gov. You will be contacted with an appointment time and date for an emergency passport service.

- Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
- Find a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items.
- In case of an attack, stay away from any debris, and monitor news outlets for official guidance.

- Pay close attention to communications from local officials.
