Demonstration Alert: U.S. Embassy Brazzaville, Presidential Political Rallies on March 13, 2026

Location: The Republic of the Congo, nationwide.

Event: Political rallies supporting Presidential candidates in The Republic of the Congo will occur throughout the country on Friday, March 13. The rallies are expected to begin early in the morning and extend through the afternoon. Large crowds with associated heightened police presence are expected for many of the rally locations.

Actions to Take:

• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings;
• Avoid areas of any law enforcement or security activity;
• Carry proper identification, including your U.S. passport with a valid Congolese visa;
• Monitor local media for updates;
• Be aware of your surroundings;
• Plan significant extra time to arrive at your destination; and
• Keep a low profile.
